If you are wanting to get a motorcycle licence you will also be wondering about the CBT Test Price.
Perhaps you are also wondering what “CBT” stands for? Well even if you aren’t, it stands for Compulsory Basic Training and it’s a 5 step process that you must go through in order to even qualify for taking a test to get your full motorbike licence.
Riding a motorcycle is a very dangerous activity as statistics on road fatalities all around the world will tell you, so governments of the world have instituted this compulsory training, which includes the following components:
Category A – Legal Checklist
Your instructor makes sure you have a helmet, bike, clothing and insurance that meets legislative guidelines. If you simply borrow the instructor’s equipment this is a much easier category to get through!
Category B – On-site Training
Do you know what the different levers, buttons, knobs, switches and holes on the motorbike are? Do you know what they do? Most importantly, do you know how to use them? This part of the CBT aims to familiarise you with the bike itself.
Category C – More On-site Training
Can you indicate, change lanes, do U-Turns, park, pick the bike up if it falls over? Your motorcycle trainer will walk you through these aspects and make sure you understand them before progressing to the next level.
Category D – Appreciating the Dangers of Motorcycling
As mentioned above, riding a bike is extremely dangerous and all students must understand this and the particular things to be wary of when riding before a CBT competency certificate is issued. Dealing with incidents of rage on the road, wild weather and drug & alcohol misuse are just some of the dangers discussed in this component.
Category E – On-road test!
This is part of the training sees you go onto public roads under the instructor’s supervision and is no doubt the most stressful aspect of CBT. Your every move will (hopefully) be scrutinised and if you aren’t up to the task of actually riding unsupervised your instructor will tell you that you have to come back for more training. This is a win win situation for students, as safety is the number 1 concern and for your own good you simply do not want to be out on the public roads unless you’re capable. Listen to your instructor’s hints and tips
